To upgrade from AGM to Lithium batteries you will need to install a new lithium battery charger compatible with the Battleborn 100 Ah 12 V LiFePO4 Deep Cycle battery. The NOCO battery charger installed with most OP4s is not compatible with Lithium batteries. We recommend using the Progressive Dynamics 30Amp LiFePO4 Converter Charger, or another comparable converter charger.

Lithium discharge gives you at least 30% more run time than AGM. A 100Ah Lithium battery can discharge up to 90Ah before requiring charge, meaning you can use almost 90% of the battery without worrying about damaging it. Your current 100Ah AGM batteries can only discharge 50Ah, or 50% of the battery, before requiring charge and risking damage to the battery.
Lithium has less internal resistance among cells, allowing it to accept more charge at a much greater rate. Typically, Lithium will charge 4X faster than AGM, so if your AGM takes 8 hours to charge, a Lithium upgrade will take only 2 hours.
Lithium can be stored up to 8 months without getting discharged to 0% (according to Battle Born). This allows you to store your OPUS without the batteries plugged in and prevents them from draining.
Lithium batteries have up to 10X the lifespan of AGM and can do at least 3000 Cycles at 100% depth of discharge. While your current AGM does 300 cycles at 100% depth of discharge.
A Lithium battery weighs less than ½ the weight of an AGM battery. Thus, by replacing 2 AGM batteries with Lithium, you can reduce a considerable amount of weight resulting in better fuel efficiency when towing your OPUS.
